RIVER TUBING

TRO is pleased to offer its customers lazy river tubing trips. Grab a tube and float the river, great fun on a hot summer day. All prices include rental of a large commercial river tube, life jacket, shuttle, and safety orientation.

What to bring:
Tubing is great fun, but you must come dressed appropriately. Dress in a bathing suit and appropriate river footwear. Correct footwear is tennis shoes or river sandals with ankle straps, NO FLIP FLOPS OR BARE FEET ALLOWED. For the Mega tubing float we also require all participants to take adequate drinks and sunscreen.

Looney Ferry to Buchanan	1.5	Our most popular tubing trip. This trip takes most groups roughly 1 1/2 hours to complete. The trip features a short stretch of the James with good current. We launch you 1.5 miles up river of our store and you float back at your leisure to our store location. The trip is very relaxing with a few easy rapids. No paddling required. Glen Maury Park	2	River tubing on the Maury River is great family fun. This trip takes most groups roughly 2 - 2 1/2 hours to complete. The trip features an interesting section of the scenic Maury River. It starts at our Glen Maury Park location and we pick you up down river at our private take out. This trip is fun and has 4 class I-II rapids. There is also a nice spot for a picnic 1 1/2 hours into the trip. Minimum age 6 years old. The group should bring along a cell phone to call for pick up when done, we provide the drybox to keep it safe along the way. This trip is operated out of our Glen Maury Park location. Mega Tubing Trip - Buchanan to Arcadia	5	If you want a full day of floating on the river we have the perfect tubing run for you. The trip typically takes most groups between 4 - 7 hours to complete depending on river levels and how much the group paddles. The trip features several class I & II rapids and good current the majority of the trip but there are 2 or 3 streches where paddling upwards of 1/2 mile will be required. Due to the remoteness of this trip, we only run this for groups of 8 or more where at least 1 person paddles a support canoe (1 canoe for every 10 tubers) that carries a spare tube in the rare case that a tube deflates or someone gets tired. The support canoe also typically carries the food and drinks. This trip makes for a great youth group outing. Minimum age 10 years old. Group should bring at least 1 cell phone to call for pick up at trip end, we will provide water proof box/bags to keep it dry.
