TRIPS & RATES: Reservations are required for all trips and can be me made by calling our main store number at 540-261-7334 or by completing the reservation request form on this website.
We have carefully scouted and mapped all our trips. We have established sites for all our access and take out points. We have permission to use these spots and never break trespass laws by putting our customers in across private property or railroad tracks or directing them to camp wherever they wish. Most of the property along our rivers is private, so careful planning is important. We monitor river conditions and rainfall amounts daily (and have since 1978). We know when it's unsafe to boat. We're fully licensed and insured for all the services we provide.

All our day trips can be run in a canoe or kayak.  Please see price break down and description below for details.  Please note the total passenger weight limits for the recreational kayak is 250 lbs, and the canoe is 875 lbs.

Our most popular run. A great HALF DAY trip with numerous rifles, Class I rapids, and one Class II rapid which may be walked.  Trip features great scenery and makes a good fishing trip. Very scenic, with good current and over 25 Class I rapids. The entire length of this trip has the special designation of "Virginia Scenic River", the only stretch with this designation on the James River. Wild life sightings are frequent on this section. Trip requires customers to drive their car to the Horseshoe Bend boat landing. *12 years old will allow 8 years old w/ parent or guardian. 5 - 6 hours.

Maury River - Buena Vista to Glasgow

This exciting trip is only runable when the Maury is over 1.6 feet on the river gauge which is typically from April to June or after a big rain. The trip featuring exciting 12 mile section with good current and numerous Class I & II rapids. Trip typically takes most groups 4.5 - 5.5 hours to complete. Trip departs from the Glasgow public boat landing, NOT our Buchanan store location. *12 years old, will allow 8 years old w/ parent or guardian.
