Twin River Outfiters Canoe Livery is proud to provide river trips to hundreds of scouts each year. Many come for a day paddling trip but the majority come for our overnight canoe camping adventures. Twin River Outfitters has some of the best white water canoe camping trips in Virginia. We can run paddling trips on over 100 miles of James & Maury Rivers in our area give us numerous paddling options for your Troop to consider. SCOUT CANOE CAMPING TRIPS - SPINGTIME SPECIAL PRICING FOR RESERVATIONS
We are please to offer Scout Groups special discounted pricing of $45.00 per person for our 2 day / 1 night trips starting April 1 thur May 15 These rates are valid for scout groups of 16 participants or more and represent a discount greater than 20% off our normal prices.
We can accomodate 2 scout groups per weekend, available on a first come first serve basis. River sections will be Alpine to Snowden - Most Advance trip- (16 Mile, Class I-III), Horse Bend to Alpine(16 Mile, Class I-III), or Our Most Popular trip which includes the 13 mile Virginia Scenic River section - Eagle Rock to Buchanan(22 Mile, Class I-II). 2 OR 3 DAY CANOE CAMPING TRIPS
Our most popular Scout trip is our 2 or 3 day canoe camping trips. This makes an ideal WEEKEND TRIP. Scouts arrive at our store in the morning where we run them through our check in process, load up all gear, and then drive them up river to one of several put ins where they paddle for the day camping at one of several river side primitive camping locations. The next morning the Scouts launch and paddle to the take out where we meet them at the take out at a predetermined time and drive them back to our Store.
For troops seeking the 50 Miler Award consider booking our 5 day Iron Gate to Snowden canoe trip on the James River. The trip is approximately 62 miles in lenghth, conains up to class II rapids, and no portages around dams or low water bridges. Add to the canoe trip a 10 hour river clean up service project along the way and you have meet the requirements to earn the 50 Miler Award.
