GUIDED FISHING

Twin River Outfitters now offers their customers guided fishing trips on the Upper James River. Our guide has over 35 years experience fishing the Upper James, Maury, Cow Pasture, and Jackson Rivers. Recognized by many as Virginia's best smallmouth bass river, the Upper James River boasts 63 miles of free flowing first class fishing. Our knowledgeable and experienced guides offer half day and full day trips on all the great sections. Fishermen of all skill levels can enjoy a relaxing and rewarding trip with one of our guided smallmouth bass or musky trips. Not only are there normally plenty of fish to catch; the scenery alone is worth the trip.  Just let our expert fishing guide take care of all the details so your group can concentrate on catching that trophy smallmouth.

Our guide typically chooses the section of river to float for the day based on trip time, water levels, current fishing conditions, and type of trip you are looking for.  He will contact you several days prior to your trip and coordinate meeting time and locations. 

We offer a sunrise trip (sunrise plus 8 hours), day trip (9am to 4pm), or a late afternoon / evening trip (2 pm until dark).  The exact times of the sunrise and evening trips can vary throughout the year based on sunrise / sunset times.  The guide will clarify the meeting time & location several days prior to the trip date.
