GUIDED ADVENTURES / SPECIALTY TRIPS / CLASSES
Each season Twin River Outfitters offers several fully guided trips and specialty classes for its customers. These unique opportunities vary throughout the year. Here is an example of some of the Special Trips offered.
GUIDED TRIPS - Have a group that needs an experienced river guide for the day. We can put a river guide on the river for $40/hour for any section of the Upper James or Maury Rivers. Call for pricing.
INTRO TO PADDLING CLASS - An American Canoe Associated Quick Start accredited beginner paddling class. This 6 hour class is geared to those seeking full instruction to get into the sport at the beginner level. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO.
ANNUAL RIVER CLEAN UP - Help Twin River Outfitters renew the James. Join us for our annual trash and tire round up where we host our annual river clean up event with Botetourt County. This event is offered the first Saturday of October and runs from 9am until about 1pm. For more information about this fun but dirty job please CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO.
MOONLIGHT PADDLE - Join the staff of Twin River Outfitters for an evening float on the James River. Experience paddling by the light of the moon. Open your senses to the sights and sounds the nighttime has to offer while paddling the James River. Launching at dusk from the Springwood boat landing, the group will float down an easy section of the James as the sun sets. Half way through the trip the sun will go down and the group will complete the last portion of the trip in the dark which adds to the adventure. Trip will be guided by TRO staff. SPECIALTY TRIPS - Throughout the year we offer specialty river trips on sections of water that we typically do not run as day trips. Signing up for these trips allows our customers to experience some unique sections of water that are more advanced or more isolated than our normal trips. This includes paddling opportunities on the Maury, Cowpasture, Jackson, and sections of the Upper James River that we do not always run for day trips. These trips can be guided or not guided.
