Back by popular demand!!! When we were located in Rockbridge County this was our most popular 2 day trip. This trip launches from our Buchanan store so includes a flexible arrival time. Trip includes a 2 1/2 hr. paddle day 1, and a 4 hr. paddle day 2. Trip features a great mix of current, impressive mountain views, and fun rapids. Minimum age 12 years old, 10 w/ parent or guardian.
STORE ARRIVAL TIME: 12 Noon, Other times available upon request.
At time of reservation customer must choose a return shuttle time for day 2. Standard pick up time is 1PM or 3PM only.

2 day trip - Maury River -
Jordens Point to Glasgow

This is a great springtime, 2 day trip on the scenic Maury River (runable when the river levels are high enough). This option includes our 2 Maury River trips listed on the Day Trips page. We will run the Jordens Point to Route 60 trip on Day 1, then our Buena Vista to Glasgow trip on Day 2. Camping is out of Glen Maury City Park and must be paid for seperately by the customer. This trip originates from our Glen Maury Park location.

This trip features a scenic stretch of the James River with some of the most impressive mountain views on the Upper James. Folks choose this exciting trip option for the rapids on the last day as you run the James River Gorge which features Balcony Falls rapid. Due to remoteness and difficulty of the rapids, we carefully screen all groups before running this trip. Prior whitewater canoe experience required. Minimum age 12 years old, 10 yrs. w/ parent or guardian.
STORE ARRIVAL TIME: 12:00 Noon, trip must not end on a Saturday, must schedule pick up time during the reservation process. Standard pick up time on the 3rd day is 1 pm unless otherwise requested at time of reservation.

Our longest trip, truly a wilderness river adventure. Includes the full 13 miles designated a Virgina Scenic River section from Eagle Rock to Springwood and includes the exciting James River Gorge - Balcony Falls section. Customers can resupply at the town of Buchanan 2 days into trip, and Glasgow on day 4 of trip. Many Boy Scout groups do this trip as a 50 miler qualifying trip. Due to the remoteness and difficulty of the rapids we carefully screen all groups before running this trip. Prior whitewater canoe experience required. *12 years old with adult guardian.
